MEN, WE NEED TO TALK...AND WALK

That moment. Sitting in the car, staring at the screen, mindlessly scrolling. Not because anything important is there, but because it’s easier than facing what’s waiting on the other side of the door. The exhaustion, the stress, the weight of everything being carried day after day.
It’s easy to tell ourselves it’s just part of the job, part of being a man, part of life. But deep down, there’s a knowing. This isn’t working.

THE SILENT STRUGGLE
Men make up nearly 80% of suicides in the U.S. First responders are more likely to die by suicide than in the line of duty. Healthcare workers are breaking under the weight of burnout. Corporate workers spend their days in back-to-back meetings, only to sit in traffic, go home, and do it all again.
And in between? Numbing. Binge drinking, smoking, scrolling, isolating. Anything to keep from feeling stuck.
The world told men to “man up.” To push through, to carry it alone. But carrying it alone was never the way.

A DIFFERENT KIND OF STRENGTH
Jesus never told people to sit with their suffering in silence. He walked with them. He met fishermen on their boats, sat with tax collectors at their tables, and stood beside outcasts in the streets. He moved with them, not ahead, not behind with.
Healing doesn’t happen in isolation. It happens in motion. In connection. In taking a step, even when that step feels impossible.

THE NEXT STEP FORWARD
Maybe it starts small. Stepping out of the car before another 30 minutes of scrolling. Take a walk instead of another drink. Picking up the phone instead of sitting in silence.
Maybe it looks like saying yes to real conversations, yes to movement, yes to stepping into something new.
Because healing isn’t about having all the answers. It’s about knowing that no one was meant to walk this road alone.
If this hits home, don’t ignore it. There’s a different way forward. A better way. And you don’t have to carry this by yourself.
Let’s move. Let’s talk. Let’s heal together.
