At Healing Hobbies, we do things a little differently because healing doesn’t happen when we stay stuck. It happens in motion, in nature, in community, and in purpose.


That’s why we created the H.O.B.B.I.E.S. Method: a faith-rooted, science-backed, movement-driven approach to mental wellness that helps people reconnect with what truly makes them feel alive. Whether you’re feeling anxious, disconnected, or just stuck in a rut, this method offers a way forward that moves beyond four walls and brings you back into the full picture of who you are.


Here’s what each letter stands for, how we apply it, and why it matters:

H – Holistic

We believe wellness is more than just mental health. It’s how we show up in every area of life. That means your habits, relationships, faith, finances, movement, rest, nutrition, and thought patterns all play a role. Real healing happens when we honor the whole person.


In our sessions, we work to understand the whole picture—your story, your habits, your rhythms, and what brings you joy. It’s not about diagnosing. It’s about connecting the dots.

O – Outdoors

Nature doesn’t demand perfection. It invites presence. In the outdoors, we’re reminded that flaws are part of beauty and growth. Moving outside, under the sky, grounds us in something bigger and helps clear the mental clutter.


Our mobile office is often parked inside Hanna Park, where we walk, breathe, and take intentional action in nature. And when Florida weather kicks in, we bring the outside in with panoramic views from the sprinter.

B – Brain

Your brain is capable of rewiring and renewal. We use science-backed strategies to strengthen mental resilience, improve focus, and support clarity. Instead of living at the mercy of our thoughts, we teach how to partner with the brain to build better habits and responses.


We ask the right questions. We explore the thoughts, words, supplements, and routines that may be shaping your mindset. We work with what fuels your brain—physically, spiritually, and emotionally.

B – Body

Our bodies hold onto the things we’ve been through, even the ones we can’t put into words. Through walking, rucking, paddleboarding, stretching, or breathwork, we help process and release what’s been stored. We move not just to feel better but to heal.


In every session, we engage the body. Whether it’s a walk, paddle, a stretch, or simply breathing with intention, we come alive when our bodies are part of the process.

I – Integration of Rhythms

Change doesn’t come from a one-time insight. It comes from daily practice. We help create small, meaningful rhythms that align with the life you want to live. It’s about consistency, not perfection.


This is where the real work begins. Together, we look at how you move through your week—workdays, weekends, vacations—and build rhythms that help change stick.

E – Emotional Regulation

Emotions aren’t bad. They’re messengers. When left unchecked, they can derail us. But with the right tools, we can listen to them, learn from them, and shift from reaction to response. That’s where emotional strength grows.


We help expand emotional vocabulary and explore how feelings show up in the body and the world around us. Sometimes that happens through music, nature sounds, or the simple rhythm of waves. Emotions find new ways to be seen, felt, and released.

S – Spirit

Everyone’s spiritual path is personal, but we all crave meaning and connection. Whether it’s through faith, breathwork, prayer, nature or reflection, we create space for the deeper parts of life to be seen and explored without judgment.


Yes, we’re faith-based. We pray before our sessions, before our days, and for our clients. But we never push belief. We walk with people through theirs. We try to embody peace, patience, kindness, gentleness, self-control, and love in all we do.

S – Science

Everything we offer is grounded in evidence and research. These aren’t trends. They’re time-tested methods that help people move forward. You’re not alone in this journey, and you’re not guessing. The science supports your healing.


We’ve earned our master’s in clinical mental health counseling, but our learning never stops. We study what today’s leading researchers are discovering, and we collaborate with wellness professionals to stay sharp, relevant, and effective.

More than a method. It’s a movement.

The H.O.B.B.I.E.S. Method isn’t about dependency. It’s about rediscovering strength, direction, and clarity while building the kind of life that doesn’t just work, but feels good to live.
